About

Dominique Gustin is a multi-disciplinary artist working in photography, digital and mixed-media, encaustic, poetry, contemporary collage, video and sound.  Dominique attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and has worked as an artist and arts professional for over thirty years. She currently resides in St. Johnsbury, Vermont with her family.

Artist Statement

My visual art and poetry traverse the mysterious and familiar. Drawing inspiration from nature, myth and culture, I create visual narratives that weave together elements of magical realism, humor, the ordinary and the profound.

Each piece begins as a daydream: considering what is beautiful, compelling, impossible, or absurd. Using a multi-layered process that combines contemporary digital collage with traditional artistic media and encaustic painting, the end result is both textural and luminous - inviting the viewer to step into a world where reality and imagination intertwine.
